Abstract: Water pollution has been proclaimed to be a leading cause of disease and death. The fatalities of 1.8 million individuals in 2015 were caused by water pollution. Contaminated stream water has been majorly incriminated as causing disease in man and animal due to their activities. This is especially caused by sewage contaminations. A study was conducted at Magada stream water in Magada community which neighboring Mountain Top University. The stream water was investigated for pathogenic organisms which could be contained in the contaminated water and the effect of these pathogens on the children in the community was also investigated through interview of the children and their parents. Many probable pathogenic organisms found, identified were listed among which are Staphylococcus species, Escherichia coil, Vibrio cholerae, Salmonella species, etc. Many symptoms of topical diseases and some indications of systemic diseases were found such as itching, rashes, vomiting, and abdominal pain. These were reported as a result of their activities in the water such as passing through the water and swimming in it.It is therefore recommended that better management of ill-health should be done and also promoting health awareness among the people in the community.
