Abstract: This study examined CAPITAL STRUCTURE AND CORPORATE PERFORMANCE OF CONSUMER GOODS FIRMS IN NIGERIA. Secondary data based on extracts from annual report and accounts of selected consumer goods firms listed on the Nigeria stock exchange market was used in this study. Multiple regression method was used to analyse the relationships between the dependent and independent variable. The model was estimated using E-view packages (version 7.0).Findings from the analysis revealed that capital structure has significant impact on performance of consumer goods firms in Nigeria. This study recommends that government should create an enabling environment so that businesses can thrive and thus increase firm's performance level. This is evident in the fact that macroeconomic variables positively affect the performances of most firms in Nigeria
