dc.description.abstract | The issue of rape is prevalent in society. When it comes to rape, the victims are mostly blamed for their mode of dressing or way of life. There is a general misconception about rape that only females get raped, and their male counterparts are never raped. When victims try to share their experiences or report cases of rape, it is mostly overlooked because of lack of evidence especially when the perpetrator is of the upper class because power and influenced will be used to oppress the victim. Using two Nollywood movies, Adekunle Adejuyigbe’s The Delivery boy and Stephanie Linus Dry, the study demonstrates that both genders can be raped. Again, rape plays a significant role in the life of victims such as, creating hate and tension in their psychological make up. It is also discovered that some literary writers that concern themselves with rape in their works actually concentrate on rape regarding females. It is hoped that going forward, people will be able to recognize that females are not the only ones that get raped in this era, males too get raped and that rapists abound for lack of verifiable evidence. | en_US |
