Abstract:
The saxophone is a woodwind instrument that was invented in 1840 and patented in 1846 by Sax Adophus a Belgian. According to Hofmann and Goebl (2014) sax is an instrument that produced expressive sound on a single reed wood-wind with highly intricate motor task, that demands coordination among the finger, aural cavity and respiration. This woodwind instrument, which is frequently misidentified as a brass instrument, produces a wide range of sounds depending on the artist and their demands by using a mouthpiece and a single reed linked to a bent brass body. Comparing the Sax with the human voice, which could produce distinctive sounds, such as cheerleading, Schubert lieder guttural noises, finely crafted eloquence, racial tension and inspire admiration. The saxophone, for example, can elicit strong physical and emotional responses in listeners.
