dc.description.abstract This research aims to investigate how language and feminism can work hand in hand. This research is going to be making use of two theories. One is a theory of language and the other a theory of feminism. The theory from the language aspect is the J.L’s Speech Act Theory and Searle’s speech acts. For the theory of feminism, African feminism is going to be examinedand under African Feminism; the theory of Stiwanism is going to be used to analyze the extracts that would be gotten from the two books that would be used for this course of study. The texts are Mariama’s So Long A Letter and Sefi Atta’s Everything Good Will Come, which are written by renowned feminist authors and these books are perfect examples that vividly show the act of feminism. The feminist research carefully observes the experiences of women in social and natural settings where women would be made visible, empowered and be able to raise their voices, publicly and unashamedly raise suggestions and opinions and be free to become and do what they want to without caring about what the world thinks of them. Women were still struggling every moment and they were still looking for their rights. Feminism has generated an ongoing debate in all over the world and it came to solve women’s problems and to put an end to the injustice treatment for them. It was the voice of women in times they were not able to speak or to express their feelings and wishes. en_US
