dc.description.abstract Beyond the basic functions of music in Africa are the socio-religion roles of music and musical elements. Music and components are elevated to the realm of deity super-human beings, gods in the socio-organization of various strata of the society. These are exemplified in musical instruments and objects being idolized and glorified. Some musical instrument are translated to the status of divinities, spirits and idols. en_US
